suggestion AVH Weed Tracker
The AVH
Weed Tracker is a personalised tool for tracking the extensions
of the geographic distribution of naturalised Australian plants.
Location records
are based on new and existing collections deposited in Australia's
principal herbarium. Their identity has been verified by Australia's
botanists.
The records are
accessed via Australia's
Virtual Herbarium, a key initiative of the Council
of Heads of Australasian Herbaria.
Users can
register to be informed by email of significant extensions of range
of nominated plants in particular regions. Reporting is in two
stages, an early "orange alert", which is followed by confirmation
OR or withdrawal via an identity and location (geocode) check.
The tool
[is open to anyone interested in tracking weeds]. A knowledge of
botanical names is important, although over time links may be
developed to common names, pictures and other means of
identification.
