The tool's development
The AVH Weed
Tracker was developed through a partnership
between the Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria (CHAH) for the CRC
for Australian Weed Management. The application has been built as an Early
Warning System available in open source, with acknowledgment, for
application to other dynamic data sets.
A
project team was established by CHAH involving members of its IT advisory
committee HISCOM from Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth, project
management support from South Australian Department for Environment &
Heritage IT Services Branch, and a representative of the CRC. The tool was
designed by the project team.
Development was initially undertaken by the South Australian
Department for Environment & Heritage IT Services Branch, who
established a proof of concept of the tool using the BioCase data delivery
engine, while the South Australian Partnership for Advanced Computing
(SAPAC) completed the building of the tool.
