Caveats

Herbarium data are as accurate as resources and quality of material collected make possible. However, knowledge of Australian naturalised plants is prone to change from the results of new research in Australia and overseas; this will influence some of the reported range extensions.

Users are encouraged to directly access Australia's Virtual Herbarium or local Herbarium sites to check the current classification of weeds and their geographic range. The Australian Plant Census is being developed as a major facility for tracking changes in plant classificaiton and consequential changes in name.
