Hydra - System News

14/03/05: Hydra has been down for 1 week for maintenance and an upgrade. Hydra is now running Red Hat Enterprise 3 Linux as its operating system.

13/04/04: Hydra has been unavailable for 4 days while the Linpack benchmarks have been re-run. This has resulted in us achieving a measured performance of 840 GFlops (as opposed to the previous 682 GFlops), a 23% increase in computational speed !!

29/08/03: Hydra is available again after some maintenance and system adjustments.

26/08/03: Hydra will be down for maintenance and some system adjustments on Friday 29 August 2003 from 9.00am for 2-3 hours. Please ensure that if you have any jobs running that you have appropriately checkpointed them or that they are finished as all jobs will be deleted from queues during the maintenance.
