Anaglyph stereo image galleries
The pages linked below are galleries
of stereo images that have been obtained with our stereo
still imaging rig. The stereo pairs have been converted
to red-cyan (left-right) anaglyph images. Note: I have found that saving the anaglyph images
in JPEG format leads to objectionable artefacts in the
images. The large version of each image has been saved as a
bitmap which, although resulting in a larger file size,
gives a better-looking image.
The thumbnails will still be saved as JPEG, however, in order to reduce download times for the thumbnail pages.
The main image files will be around 1.5MB to 2.5MB in size.
Another things that has been noticed is that the apparent
visual quality of some of the anaglyph images differs
between some monitors. That is, the same anaglyph image
may not appear as "cleanly" (this may be evident as ghosting
or leakage between the left and right images) on some
monitors as on others.
